On a large amount of windows computers we typically see the same “viruses” popping up all the time. Most people don’t realize that a virus in reality is usually a program, just like Photoshop or Microsoft Office. The difference is these “programs” don’t help you in any way and may be stealing your personal and private information, that is when we classify them as a virus.
Just like Photoshop most of these viruses can be removed straight through windows. Simply by going to control panel and selecting “uninstall a program”. From there you can see a list of all the applications currently installed on your computer. As you scroll down the list, what you should be looking for is anything that does not have a publisher in the next column over. Typically these programs should not be there unless you purposefully installed them. Of course you should always consult a professional but this is a quick way to get rid of unwanted malware and other malicious software.
